<aside> 💚 The board reveives multiple annual ball invitations from other associations, and some of them are forwarded to the guild officials. The guild will reimburse 75% of the dinner ticket for two people representing Athene, up to a maximum of €75. If more than two guild members are participating in the annual ball, the reimbursement can be split between the participants. In this case, only two people should still fill out the expense report, and the splitting handled between the participants.

Gift giving

When signing up for the ball, please indicate your wish to present a greeting on behalf of the Guild of Information Networks Athene ry! This will give you a time slot at the Cocktail party for you to give your gift to the association celebrating. If you put just Athene, you will be among the first to give a gift. Be on time with your gift giving!

• The budget for the gift in 2024 is 20€, it has usually been customary to give a (glass) bottle of Koskenkorva Vodka. It’s often wrapped or packaged in a way that it’s hard to access/open. If you're keen, you can also come up with some other gift (which the Kossu might be attached to in some way) in addition to the bottle.
• Gift recipients will also appreciate if there is a non-alcoholic alternative (e.g. a vichy bottle) to take a shot from.

In the gift giving, you take turns congratulating the association, for example, "Athene, the Guild of Information Networks congratulates the Guild of Architecture on its nth anniversary, and would like to present you with this gift." The gift may be accompanied by a donkey bridge.

• You present the gift and the custom is to open the cap of the gift bottle that "accidentally" falls off and "accidentally" stomp on the cap so that it can no longer be used.
• The gift-givers then usually carry out a quality check, i.e. take a taste test, after which the gift is offered to the recipients.
• Some associations may prefer to use shot glasses, some will enjoy the gift straight from the bottle. If they use shot glasses, they will be provided at the Cocktail party.

Dress code

Dress code usually a tailcoat or dark suit, or long dress + academic merit badges.
